PHILOSOPHYOur philosophy at Riverdale Montessori School is to give each child what he or she needs. Children are encouraged to reach their full potential through teaching methods that develop the whole personality of the child, not only the intellectual facilities, but also the powers of deliberation, initiative, independent choice and emotional development.
The overall goal of each classroom is to have children enjoy themselves, learn at his/her own pace and to begin in the education process with a positive attitude for school.
MATERIALS/EQUIPMENT
Attractive and colorful materials enhance the growing child's motor coordination, sensory and intellectual development. Children play in the block area, paint, prepare their own snack, play with puzzles and/or read while the teachers and assistants work with one child or a small group. There is also an outside play yard, which is used during the warmer months.

Each child is a unique individual. We do no compare children or individual progress. We promise to give each child individual attention in a stimulating, nurturing and fun environment. Each and every child will receive our best. There is no "pushing" or "forcing" to do things a child is not comfortable with or ready to do. We are here to teach and to help your child grow at his or her own pace and abilities.
