Riverdale Montessori School began in 1985 as a small school with a maximum enrollment of 40 children. We have two classrooms of 20 children. Each classroom has a certified teacher, an experienced, mature assistant to the teacher and a part-time aide.
Our children range in age from 2.9 to 6 years. Because many children stay with us until they enter first grade, they usually remain in the same class with the same teachers and friends. This gives the child and teacher the opportunity to know each other very well and to feel comfortable with each other, which leads to a better learning environment.
Children are taught to work cooperatively within a group and to develop the self-discipline required to perform a task. The stimulating environment and contagious enthusiasm encourage the development of individual talents and interest -- children attain confidence through achievement.
